Make your contribution to the health of the Great Lakes...map your practice!
Add Your Green Practice to the Map

Here you can add your rain barrel, rain garden, green roof, etc. to the NECO website and map. Once your practice has been submitted you can add photos, narrative descriptions, links, calculate the amount of water managed, and estimate the environmental benefits.

About the Website

Networked Neighborhoods for Eco-Conservation Online (NECO) helps you to map and to share photos, experiences, and information about your rain barrels, rain gardens, or other water conservation practices. You can also connect with others in your geographic neighborhood who are doing similar things.

NECO utilizes existing social networking websites such as: Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and others to help share information and connect individuals and businesses working toward a common goal of improving their local environment through the installations of green practices.

  • Become a Partner

We are interested in partnering with communities, businesses, and organizations who have a common goal of improving the health of the Great Lakes ecosystem through the adoption of green practices. Our partners receive all the benefits of mapping their practice, generating reports for managed water or ecological enhancements in their community or watershed, and networking with others doing similar projects in your area. In addition, partners benefit from beta testing our newly developed systems before there available to the public and can provide feedback in the development process that will help our tools benefit your organization.

If you are interested in becoming a partner or finding out more about this project, contact Jeremiah Asher at 517-432-5586 or e-mail asherjer@msu.edu.
